Oil mist collectors
DU-PUY is very proud to present its new range of SKY oil mist collectors. These oil mist centrifugal filters enable the suction and purification of large quantities of air rich in oil mists, micro-mists and fumes that remain suspended in the air. These oily compounds are harmful to the environment and human health. They are generated during machining operations inside machine tools, when the friction of the metals involved in the machining process causes the lubricants to overheat and turn into oil mists. The most common processes are turning, milling, grinding, planing, drawing, drilling, boring, shearing, threading and deforming.
Current regulations, which differ from country to country, require the prompt extraction and purification of these mists in order to maintain a healthy and productive working environment.

How does work the oil mist collector?
- Air polluted by oil and small solid particles is suctioned from the machine tool cabin, through the mist collector’s suction inlet and towards the filters thanks to the vacuum generated by the centrifugal fan. Here, the principle of coalescence, the propensity of oil droplets to aggregate into larger and heavier droplets, is exploited.
- The air is forced to pass from the inside to the outside of the filter chamber and at the end of this process is completely purified from the pollutants. The oily droplets separated from the air flow do not undergo any kind of treatment and can therefore be recovered and reused.
- A drainage tube which is in constant “overpressure” efficiently collects the recondensed oil mist.
